A garment photo station

Early days, but it shows we are serious about the equipment. We are still experimenting with the setup.

  1. Two strip lights in softboxes. Even light from both sides.
  2. Diffusers. In use they go in front of the lights to soften strong shadows. They are not in this photo.
  3. White backdrop. A clean ground behind every garment.
  4. Clear hanger. Holds the garment without hiding its shape.
  5. Size markers. A black marker at the top, and another at the bottom out of frame, for measuring the garment's size.
  6. Camera on a tripod. Tethered to the laptop.

Two setups we are exploring

Full setup

For people with the space, time and budget: both lights, the full stand and size capture.

Light setup

For people with no room for all the equipment, who still deserve decent digitisation: perhaps a single light, a much smaller stand, no size capture.
